Power Supply Projects Consultancy and Design services are provided by a team of highly competent engineers with extensive experience of working in heavy rail, light rail and DNO industries.
We have worked on all stages of projects from initial inception through to final hand back and our capabilities cover all aspects of AC & DC traction and distribution system design and specification.
Our teams experience of outline through to detailed substation design phase ranges from 11kV, 22kV & 33kV HV switchgear, Protection and control, SCADA, HV Cabling, Earthing and bonding, Transformers through to Modular substation construction.
We undertake the design of electrical protections systems and specified the protection arrangements and settings on both traction and distribution projects.
Also, our team’s capability extends to providing complete earthing assessments (from survey and modelling, to the final assessment report). We have used this expertise to assist projects in problems ranging from simple substation earth farms through to complex assessments of induced voltages from and onto lineside parallel conductors.
Recent undertakings include:
- Sheffield tram train scheme where PSP designed all aspects of the traction substations and specified the projects earthing and bonding arrangements
- Stirling Dunblane and Alloa Electrification where we undertook assessments and design of earthing requirements, design of HV cabling and design of control wiring for OLE MOS switches
- North West Electrification phase 4 & 5 where we have design HV earth farms, undertook induced voltage assessments and have specified protection requirements across the project.
- Manchester Metro Link power supply upgrade. Design and build of two new substations to feed the metro system at Brooklands and Whitefields.
